Duggan-Cronin Gallery - Kimberley |
This building is one of Kimberley¹s earlier surviving buildings and is home to a collection of some 8 000 ethnographicphotographs taken by Alfred Martin Duggan-Cronin, during expeditions into rural areas of Southern Africa, mainly between 1919 and 1939. |

Another unique art institution is the William Humphreys Art Gallery, South Africa¹s only Grade 1 art gallery. Specialising in the work of South African artists, precolonial, historical and contemporary, the gallery also has a fine collection of sixteenth and seventeenth century Flemish and Dutch Old Masters and works of English and French Masters. Other important collections include the distinctive works of renowned Kimberley architect and artist, William Timlin. The gallery is one of the few art museums to display San rock art. The gallery is often a venue for many significant temporary art exhibitions by local and international artists. Conclude your visit with a welcome cup of tea and a snack in The Palette Tea Room and buying locally produced artworks from the art shop. |
