| Bid Description: | Frances Baard chose Freedom – and dedicated her life to achieving freedom for the people of South Africa. In that struggle, she found love too, love within the family, and love from the people that she served so well. Her choice of freedom also brought her pain, hardship, imprisonment and solitary confinement, and separation from her family and loved ones. It is because she chose Freedom, that we are gathered here today to honour her. |
